Love the valleys? Help them thrive
Do you enjoy living in the Valleys and would you like to play a role in keeping them thriving and looking at their best? Are you concerned about the impact you have on nature? Would you simply like to get active outdoors and meet new people?
The Valleys Regional Park Guardians are a dedicated team of experts delivering nature-based activities across the Welsh Valleys. Working through our Discovery Gateways and within local communities, the Guardians offer inspiring opportunities to connect with the nature on our doorsteps whilst learning new skills in how to care for our rich natural habitats and landscapes.
The VRP stretches all the way from Carmarthenshire to Pontypool and Bridgend to Merthyr Tydfil which means there are likely to be activities taking place near you!
Join our VRP Guardians and through the programme you could meet new people and develop a broad range of practical and social skills, all whilst working in our beautiful valleys. You could:
- Protect the environment through practical conservation
- Learn about nature through family bushcraft activities and for home-schooling
- Nurture nature through local community growing initiatives
- Feel well by walking for your wellbeing
Have fun and discover more about where you live – the landscape and the people in it!
All activities are free, anyone is welcome to join in and volunteers must be aged 16 or above (except for participants in family activities). You don’t need any experience or prior knowledge, all tools and training are provided and activities are delivered safely.
